| ZEUS was king of the gods. His name meant "bright sky". He married his elder sister, HERA,but he had many women, and changing his shape to escape from jealous HERA. He was famous for his sexual adventures. The city of Thebes was said to have been founded as result of ZEUS's desire for EUROPA, daughter of the king of Phoenicia. He seduced her as a bull, with LEDA as a swan etc. On mount Olympus, under of clouds was his throne. Lighting was his sceptre. Oak and eagle were sacred to him. |

| Sun-god, god of music and the art, patron of poetry, matematics and prophecy. He was son of ZEUS and LETO and brother of ARTEMIS the moon-goddess. Gold bealonged to APOLLO and silver to his sister ARTEMIS. APOLLO had golden bow and hunt down the mountains, and ARTEMIS had silver bow shooting arrows of silver light. |

| The god of medecine and healing. He was son of APOLLO who held domain over medicine and passed the gift to his son, ASCLEPIUS. Hi became such a good doctor that he could bring the dead back to life. HADES, god of dead, complaind to ZEUS. ZEUS took up a thunderbolt and killed ASCLEPIUS. APOLLO, infuriated, stormed into the volcano and slew all the Cyclopes who labored there forging thunderboltes. ZEUS recalled ASCLEPIUS to life. ASCLEPIOS patched up the Cyclopes, who returned to forge thunderbolts for ZEUS. |
